Control of heat generated by the lighting.
The cabinet design uses the stack effect. The heat output from the low voltage lamps within the cabinets is used to create a self-regulating flow of air excavating the heat from the cabinets by natural convection,
(Low voltage MR16 lamps could be changed to LED lamps using suitable transformers – this would remove ANY heat output from the light sources).
Additional 240-volt double socket on rear plinth
The glass cabinets sit on mirrors that are placed on top of the base platform.
These mirrors reflect light back through the glass bases of the cabinets
3 6mm (0.25″) thick mirrors cover the base.
The base platform below the mirrors is 25mm (1″) thick MDF.
It is in 2 sections.
This platform sits on adjustable feet that enable the platform to be brought to level on uneven floors.
The adjustable feet are circa 100mm (1″) in height.
This creates a void of approx. 100mm (4″) between floor & underside of base.
The void is utilised for cable runs/Transformers/etc.
A mirrored plinth ‘clip on’ attaches to the adjustable feet supporting the base platform.
It hides the base on the front face and the exposed side,
(This could be extended to cover additional areas).
